“An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.” -Arnold Toynbee (1889-1975)
“The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.” -Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831)
In 1965, the reprehensible President Lyndon Johnson (LBJ; 1908-1973) told the American people that they could have both guns and butter simultaneously. He ridiculed those who opposed his policies, calling them “Nervous Nellies”. He was wrong! He waged a losing war in Vietnam while creating the worst welfare state in history at home with his “War On Poverty”. His policies sent the nation into an economic tailspin turning the largest creditor-nation into the largest debtor-nation. America never recovered. Now, the federal debt is $39-trillion and deepening.
Our current president bills himself as the “King of Debt”. A king who has gone bankrupt six times. An ominous sign of a future economic calamity. Ironically, despite his warts, Mr. Trump probably represents the last, best hope for this nation on fire. Yes, subsequently Vice-President Vance might carry the torch ably, but his taking office remains problematic.
“There’s many a slip ‘twixt the cup and the lip.” -English saying
Like LBJ in Vietnam, Mr. Trump finds himself in a war of underestimated dimensions and, like Vietnam, seemingly being fought not to win. Concurrently, the government is digging the hole of debt deeper in order to maintain so-called entitlements to the never-satisfied unproductive. Almost 80% of immigrants, legal and illegal, receive some sort of welfare. Does Paco Lopez and the million like him migrate to America for political freedom or for financial gain — gain by robbing Americans of their hard-earned wealth? He yearns for a better life, Mr., Mrs., and Miss America, at your expense.
Ultimately, the piper must be paid. Tomorrow? Next week? Next year?
When the piper does get paid, what? Will debt coupled with diversity have dealt fatal blows to a once-great nation now set on fire? Diversity is death.
For some years, the Chinese have viewed America as a nation in terminal decline. In order to defeat such a nation, China only need sit back and stay out of trouble such as invading Taiwan, which never was a part of China despite Chinese, fallacious claims to the contrary.
“Never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself.” -Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821)
China has a homogeneous population composed, on average, of people intellectually superior to the average. Only 0.1% of the population is foreign-born, which it rightly views as a strength. Conversely, America has a heterogeneous population with 14% foreign-born, which it wrongly views as a strength; a strength it may have been when the immigrants were Christian Caucasians from Europe (“Whites”) not Mohammedan Negroes from Africa. China is evolving, admittedly with problems, under a largely patriarchal system. America is devolving under an increasingly matriarchal system; there never has been a successful matriarchal society of consequence in history. Politics remains the fabric binding Chinese society. Judeo-Christian dogma was the fabric binding American society; no longer. China promotes a nuclear family. America is destroying the nuclear family.
“Mundus vult decipi, ergo decipiatur. The world wants to be deceived, so let it be deceived.” -Petronius (1st-century A.D.)
As described in Retribution Fever (2018), there is a scientifically-based alternative to terminal decline. Unfortunately, the demographics function against recovery but maybe not. More likely, however, attempting to revive the nation is like throwing meat to a dying dog. The nation does not want to hear. It prefers to be deceived and actively attacks those who disturb its ill-conceived, misguided sense of self; for example about racial differences.
“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces.” -Matthew 7:6
