Reportedly in China, President Xi has been promoting political allies while demoting others. His maneuver seems designed to improve the already probable odds of his gaining a third term unprecedented since the days of Chairman Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997). Xi’s seeking to maintain his corrupting power is reminiscent of the same gambit by former American President FDR in 1940. Moreover, Xi continues with his whack-a-mole program of serial lock-downs in a futile attempt to keep China free from CoViD-19. So, once he has fulfilled his self-aggrandizing political goal, then? Will he lift the lock-downs, having demonstrated his power, or is there more biologically to the lock-downs than meets the eye?

Note (25JUL2022): The draconian lock-downs continue in China, damaging their economy and even more that of the rest of the world. Meanwhile, the latest variant of SARS-CoV2 continues its rampage, problematic vaccines and medicines notwithstanding. Assisted by the grotesque monster-dwarf, Fauci, China has unleashed a virus upon the world that has caused immeasurable morbidity and mortality; yet, it has escaped retaliation. Why? Money speaks louder than human lives. Ultimately, China well might find itself facing the same lethal variant of this rapidly mutating virus with the same catastrophic consequences, lock-downs or no lock-downs; thereby, confirming Fermi’s Paradox.

Why, President Xi are you sacrificing the Chinese economy through unpopular lock-downs? Your economic growth has slowed to a crawl as a consequence of this draconian measure. Is it simply a show of power as Tucker Carlson on American television claimed? If not, what do you know that we Americans don’t? Maybe something? Maybe nothing.
As you well are aware most of us Americans no longer trust our deceitful government, which has lied to us about the current plague since its beginning as well as about other vital matters. In this country and others, lock-downs are a proven failure. New variants of old vaccines designed to suppress new variants of old SARS-CoViD2 merely are playing whack-a-mole and carry great risks, many unknown. New medicines to treat CoViD-19 have limited success. To date, the virus is running its course despite human interventions and especially lock-downs.
Yet, despite the evidence against lock-downs, you adhere to this unpopular strategy. Why?

For some years, microbiologists have been warning the world of a mass human extinction that they call “Disease X”, probably to be caused by a virus. Could a mutating variant of SARS-CoViD2 come to be that virus? How ironic! Mankind kills itself with a man-made virus; thereby, confirming the concept in Fermi’s Paradox that all intelligent beings in the Cosmos ultimately destroy themselves.
If such might be the case, what are your biological scientists doing in advance to protect the Chinese people and the rest of the world? Are you trying to keep China relatively free from the current plague until you can develop a truly effective, safe vaccine? Once developed, will you provide your vaccine to the rest of the world? If unsuccessful, as addressed in the novel, Retribution Fever, what are your political experts doing to plan for those Chinese surviving, if any, such a catastrophe?

Sadly, we Americans easily are fooled. We, for example, were fooled by your previous regimes into allowing China into the World Trade Organization, proving Deng Xiaoping’s (1904-1997) strategy correct; thereby, converting our mighty industrial economy into a flimsy financial one. We have been fooled by the misleading propaganda spewed in behalf of our own military-industrial complex into further bankrupting our economy to fund Ukraine, a tyranny, against Russia defending itself against the Albright Doctrine of 1994 extending NATO to Russian borders. We were fooled by the despicable Fauci, your ally in the development of this terrible man-made virus, into believing his lies about dealing with the plague that it has caused. Many Americans have suffered as a consequence. Some have died. Fauci and you have killed more than one-million Americans and gotten away with it. Understandably, you are loath to inflict such a tally upon China. Lock-downs may have given you temporary success but not permanent. Ultimately, lock-downs will fail at huge cost to China and the rest of the world; e.g., Shanghai.
This commentator cannot believe that you intentionally would inflict the current unpopular economic and social hardship of severe lock-downs upon your own people in an ultimately fruitless attempt to control a wily virus. Might you have another reason? If so, what be it? Why?
